With regenerative farming, we have a chance to pull the food system back from the brink.
Regenerative farming:
- Works in harmony with nature
- Restores soil
- Boosts wildlife
- Helps us adapt to climate change
- Builds resilience in our food system
Our mission
At Waitrose, we lead the field in championing regenerative agriculture. With every harvest, we're making the land better, not worse.
“In May 2024 we launched our Farming For Nature programme, committing to source all own label UK meat, milk, eggs, fruit, vegetables and horticulture from farms that use regenerative practices by 2030.
We are supporting more than 1,500 of our British farmers to move to more nature-friendly practices that will help build resilience at a time when we are facing the challenges of extreme weather and the impact of nature loss in the UK.” – Andrew Hoad, Director of Leckford and Farming for Nature
Our commitment to regenerative farming reflects the belief that producing high-quality food and caring for the environment go hand in hand.
The Waitrose “Championing Regenerative Farming” logo indicates that the product has come from producers who are committed to continuous improvement in using nature friendly farming techniques.

At The Waitrose Farm, nature takes on the hard work to create a self-sustaining ecosystem. Discover how these natural elements enable our regenerative farming practices.
Simply put, regenerative agriculture is about soil and nature. Learn more about how The Waitrose Farm is increasing resilience so we can secure food for the future.
Our dairy farmers milk cows, not the land
We are working with farming partners such as Stuart Rogers, who have been supplying Waitrose with milk for over 25 years. They have been working on regenerative techniques, such as cover cropping to improve soil health, with the help of our Farming for Nature programme. All Waitrose own label fresh milk carries the championing regenerative logo.

We need to make substantial changes in how we farm, so we’re working with key organisations to help us reach our goal of a food system that’s great for both the natural world and for the future of British farming.
