Grocery orders

Click the 'Book a slot' option within Groceries followed by 'Home delivery'. Confirm your delivery address and you’ll see the available delivery slots. Available slots have a grey tick which changes to green when selected. Be sure to complete checkout after adding your products to your trolley to confirm your order and to not lose your temporarily held slot.

New slots are released daily and we are working hard to provide more availability. 

We are sorry if a delivery slot is not available to you at this time. If you are able to collect your shopping, please try booking a Click & Collect slot.  

Open the Waitrose App and where the pending order is, click the 3 dots in the right hand corner and then select cancel order.

On waitrose.com, if already signed in simply select 'My orders' in the navigation bar otherwise log into your account to see your orders. Click View Order for the order you wish to cancel and on the next screen will be a cancel order button.

If you are in the process of amending the order you wish to cancel, you will need to checkout or cancel changes to be able to cancel the order as you can only cancel a pending order. Payment is taken on delivery day so you will not be charged during checkout.

Select a category or use the search bar to find a product. Use the plus '+' sign to place a product in your trolley. Use the minus '-' sign to remove a product from your trolley. You can see your order total and product count in your online shopping trolley.

Click on the trolley icon on the right-hand side of the page. You’ll then see an option for ‘Trolley details’ – if you click on this, it will take you to a screen called 'My trolley – Amending order'. Here, you’ll have the option to remove a product, increase or decrease the quantity, or add a note to the shopper (for example, to specify that you’d like brown bread only, if your chosen product is not available). There is also an option to deselect the ‘Allow substitution’ box. 

Our App works slightly differently. Within the ‘Trolley’ section you’ll have the option at the top of the screen to either empty the whole trolley or, for each product, increase or decrease the quantity or add a note. You can also deselect the ‘Allow substitution’ box. 

There is a small charge for picking, packing and delivering orders. The charge will be made clear on the delivery slot booking page and it will be added automatically to your total at the checkout once you have reserved a delivery slot. The amount will be displayed above your 'Total' on the order confirmation screen. Collections remain free, subject to a minimum spend.

In selected shops we’ve introduced an option to book a four-hour Saver Slot at a lower cost than the one-hour slot. By selecting this option, you allow us to be more efficient with our delivery van routes, and reduce food miles. We’ll send you a text message on the day advising you of a one-hour slot for your delivery.

We don’t take payment for your order until the entire order has been picked and goes through the checkout. This is usually the day of delivery or collection.

The majority of our products are online with slight assortment changes by delivery location. To see if a product is available in your area, firstly log in so that we can identify the delivery location and assortment available to you and then use the “Search groceries” box at the top of the screen.

Yes, you can change your delivery slot or edit your order after checkout. For most orders, you can change the slot or place a Next Day delivery until 8pm the day before delivery and amend until 9pm. The cut-off for amending orders will be clearly displayed after you checkout and on your My Orders page. 
We recommend editing your order as early as possible and not too close to the order deadline time to avoid any issues. Entertaining/Food Made to Order items have a required number of notice days, so if you have an Entertaining product within your order, we recommend calling us on 0800 188 884.

If you are having a checkout issue, make sure your order is over our minimum spend and if amending an order, that there isn’t a message reading 'No Longer Available' for any products as these products will need to be removed from your trolley before confirming your order. 

If you are having a website or App performance issue, please close down your browser or close your App and restart your device. You can also try a different device. If you are still having an issue it could be that we are experiencing a site performance problem. If you are able to wait please try again at a later time, we apologise for this. For in store, we will accept contactless payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay), Partnership Card, John Lewis Business Account Card, Visa Debit (Delta), Maestro UK, MasterCard, Visa Credit,  American Express and Waitrose gift cards/vouchers.
