Get the most out of our in-store meat, fish cheese and deli counters

Meat counter

Meat counter
All beef on the meat counter is Aberdeen Angus, a Scottish breed renowned for its natural marbling, great taste and consistent high quality. Plus, our craft butchers will slice steak to your preferred size. A nose-to-tail approach means Waitrose buys the whole animal, so what isn’t sold as traditional cuts is made into burgers, meatballs and ready meals or sold as ‘forgotten cuts’.

Fish counter

En papillote (French for ‘in parchment’) is a savvy way to cook seafood, sealing in moisture and flavour. Ask for ‘meal maker’ at the fish counter and a fishmonger will prep and bag up your choice with butter and herbs for no extra charge. Try it on the meat counter, too - add a free marinade, rub, butter, fresh herb or citrus.

Cheese counter

Cheese counter
Waitrose cheese counters stock 96 different types of cheese, with an average of 60 per store. They range from creamy No.1 Yorkshire Pecorino Fresco to raclette, rolls of soft ash-coated goat’s cheese and giant wodges of Le Crêt Gruyère.

Deli counter

Scoop up an Ottolenghi pickled carrot and kohlrabi slaw from the deli counter, a ‘Support British Producers’ selection of five cheeses (think Cricket St Thomas Camembert and Sussex Marble), and a Leckford seeded baguette for a picnic minus the prep.
